I haven’t played bass for myself in close to a year, so I figured I’d take a stab at something fun. It’s SO crappy, but it was first try. Whatevs

Such a GOOD & br00t4l cover!

I had said earlier that I would try my best to keep my Tumblr updated while I was out on tour, but that honestly was easier said than done once I hit the road. Head over to the link above to see a huge tour recap I posted on the Stereo Bear site, with pictures and captions :)

I’m true to The Orpheum in Tampa, so when I saw this, I HAD to take a picture. My first day in NYC was need less to say, nothing short of awesome! I started by having those slices of Pizza I tumbl’d about yesterday and that was yummy.I then proceeded to Google Map (insert iPhone plug here) the closest Apple Store (insert Apple plug here), which was actually just 20 minute walking distance from where I’m staying, so I took to the streets. As usual, very busy, very fast paced New Yorkers stormed the streets and I found myself weaving in and out of the crowd like I was something out of “The Fast and The Furious” lol.Now make note, the reason I went to the Apple Store in the first place was because during my layover in Charlotte, NC yesterday, I was using my computernormally and I closed the lid to have it go to sleep and put in my bag, like I ALWAYS do. Well my back started getting REALLY hot and when I took it out again it was SCORCHINGLY hot and the 52% power it had left had completely drained in minutes. So I checked online and there were no Genius Bar appointments till Sat, which I can’t do, because I leave NYC for tour on Saturday. I kindly spoke to a Concierge there, explained the situation, then she basically hooked it up by entering me into the system and BOOM, brand new MacBook Pro battery. Thank you Apple, Apple Care and Rachel for hookin’ it up with that Apple till Oct.After that, Matt took me to this place called Crif Dogs that basically RULED, and they have this phone booth inside and if you go and press #47983 or some shit like that, a secret door opens up to this “Elite” club or restaurant. It was wild, to say the least. Then, just hit up different bars around NYC including a pit stop at Angels & Kings, where they had like (1) PBR with (1) shot of Whiskey specials, and Karaoke night. Late night Pizza and off to rest. It is now 1:08pm and I’m off to head Uptown to meet up with the Mercy Mercedes boys after their meetings, and hang around the city. I’m super stoked cuz I believe I’ll be hanging tonight at the “Let’s Make A Mess” tour which hits the city, so I can’t wait to see some more great people. NYC friends, keep the texts, IM’s and calls coming. I’m stoked I’m gonna get to see many of you.

Thank you Matt Ganzak for introducing me to what I think is the CHEAPEST NY Pizza I’ve ever had. $2, no tax?! WIN!

Hello Charlotte! I have about a 2 hour layover here. It’s a very nice airport, but the ONLY thing I don’t understand is that it just SUCKS at providing adequate charging capabilities to people for their electronics. So I’m currently writing this while being posted on the floor, against the wall, between payphones and the loud water fountain. Next stop, NYC!

And just like this………my journey begins. Some people perhaps may not see the reason behind my excitement, but this experience is something that I am A) very stoked for and B) very proud to be doing. It’s not everyday that I get the opportunity to tour manage a band, that I do not only love as artists, but just genuinely feel like family with. Second to all that, I’m just super excited to be seeing so many good friends day in and day out, all on one tour, and even more, all the new relationships I’ll be establishing.
My trip starts with flying to NYC for a few days just to go home, remember where I was born and lived for 10 years of my life and take care of some serious business. Details on this “business” to be discussed at a later date, but lets just say it’s a secret project I’m working on that again, I’m VERY stoked on! While there I’m going to make it a point to try and see as many friends as possible in that 3 and 1/2 day span. Leaving on tour, bummed me out, only because, there are some really good tours that were swinging through town with great friends that I wouldn’t get to see, BUT, courtesy of Matt Ganzak, he made me aware of one of those swinging through, just a day after I arrive. Tomorrow, I’ll be attending the “Lets Make A Mess” Tour feat. Hey Monday, This Providence, The Friday Night Boys, Stereo Skyline and The Bigger Lights, and Oh boy, let me just say, I’m looking forward to seeing everyone.
Maybe while I’m here I’ll take the time to try and hunt down my father………………. oh wait, FUCK that guy! It’s because of you that I tend to be closed with my feelings :-, so thanx a lot dickwad. To anyone who I’ve ever closed up to or shun my heart to, my apologies.
Enough sadness. Definitely looking forward to going out in the city and seeing what Matt & Becca have in store in the next few days. I’m going to be doing my BEST to actively keep up my tumblr on a daily basis for everyone to see the daily happenings on Warped Tour ‘09. Time for my flight to Charlotte, which then connects to NYC. Love you all and come and find me tour please! stereojorge@mac.com will be the easiest way to get ahold of me, since it’ll go straight to my iPhone, and loud music will NOT impede me from reading an email. If you have my cell, then just text me, if you don’t, then whoops. ;)
